Hand cardiac catheterization, also known as radial catheterization, is an advanced medical procedure that inserts a catheter or small tube through the radial artery in the arm, instead of using the femoral artery. This process has several important advantages:
- The patient does not need to be sleeping on his back throughout the operation, but can be in a comfortable sitting position during the catheterization.
-Once the operation is over, the patient can walk naturally without any major restrictions.
- The patient can climb the stairs naturally without any problems, unlike the catheter through the thigh, which usually requires the patient not to climb the stairs for approximately two days.
- The patient is allowed to practice his daily life normally the day after the operation after a short rest period in the hospital, without the need for extended rest as is the case with catheterization through the thigh.
- The patient can safely take blood thinning medications without fear of bleeding complications, which facilitates the management of the health condition more comfortably and safely.
